Abstract

In this paper, color images enhancement using alpha-rooting will be compared with the discrete Fourier transform and discrete quaternion Fourier transform. The increase in color images was measured by Gray Level Co-Occurrence Matrix (GLCM) by looking at the contrast in each image. It was found that the selection of α values greatly affect the results of image in an image. The results of experiments conducted using several images inform that the discrete Fourier transform has a GLCM value at a higher contrast than the discrete quaternion Fourier transform.
